Different Varieties of Birds at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
This is one of the major attractions of the city. It was known as the perfect place for duck shooting during the reign of British. In the year 1956, the place was designated as a bird reserve and later updated to a National Park. The best part is that it is acclaimed as a world heritage site by the UNESCO. The place is no less than a heaven for the bird lovers, with so many varieties chirping together in one place. It is located in north eastern part of Rajasthan and attracts many visitors.The sanctuary shelters birds from Europe, Tibet, China and off course India. Iron Fort
Apart from the scenic beauty, the place is also rich in history and culture. The famous Lohagarh Fort or the Iron Fort stood strong against several attacks by the British rulers. However, Lord Lake was successful in capturing it. The fort is unique in its structure and design. It generates an aura of magnificence and strength. The structure is encircled with moat which was filled with water in the past. Some important monuments of the fort include Mahal Khas, Kishori Mahal, Moti Mahal and towers like Fateh Burj and Jawahar Burj. The government museum in Bharatpur is situated inside the Iron Fort. It is just 4 km away from the railway station and the bus stand.
